I’ve decided to host a new spinalong on the Spanish Peacock Flock Facebook page! We’re going to take the month of November to spin together, and express gratitude for all the blessings in our lives—both big and small.

At the end of the month, I’ll post here about how my spin went. In the meantime, if you would like to join us on Facebook but aren’t sure it’s your “thing”, here are the rules.

Spinalong Details

Dates – November 1, 2023 to November 30, 2023

Focus – Remembering to be grateful for the blessings in our lives, whether they be large or small. This beautiful spinning hobby is just one of many things that graces our lives, so let’s use it as an expression of gratitude!

I will post at least one gratitude a day with each daily spinalong thread on the Flock. Participants are invited to share what they are grateful for as well. Nothing is too big or too small – or too cheeky or funny, depending on where you are at the moment. Heck, some days I am just grateful I didn’t burn dinner! I believe the more we all share, the more we will collectively remember that we actually have it pretty good, despite what a hot mess 2023 has been for many of us.

Another reason to be grateful – there will be prizes! Specifics will be announced after the start of the spinalong, a.k.a., as soon as I decided on them. If you’d like to contribute a prize, please send me a FB message.

Official Gratitude Spinalong Rules

1. No stress! Have fun. If anything about this spinalong is stressful to you, please sit this one out and join us on a future spinalong.
2. Any fiber, fiber prep, or spinning tool is fine, and photos on the Flock that include non-Spanish Peacock spinning tools are permitted during the spinalong only.
3. I will post a daily spinalong thread on the Flock for folks to share progress photos. Participants are encouraged, though not required, to share things they are grateful for along with their progress updates.
4. On the last day of the spinalong (November 30), I will post a Flock thread for the prize drawing asking a question about how you feel at the end of the spinalong. Reply in the comments – one comment per person enters you in the drawing. Comments must be added by 10 p.m. EST to qualify. If you’re in a different time zone, please plan accordingly. Winners will be selected at random from the entries. For any physical prizes, domestic shipping will be free; international winners unfortunately do need to pay shipping.
5. If anything in the rules is unclear, please let me know and I will correct/fix / update as needed.
