Zen and the Art of Choosing a Supported Spindle

Here is information about and handouts for my Winterfest 2026 class, Zen and the Art of Choosing a Supported Spindle.

The class is scheduled for three hours, but there will be a break during that time. Last year, the class only lasted two hours and I discovered the hard way that I have so much more to say on this topic!

If you cannot attend the class live on January 24, 2026, no worries—the session will be recorded and available for 30 days afterwards.

You may wish to download or print out the handouts to take notes during the class.

Supported Spindle Anatomy: I will use these terms throughout the class.

Featured Makers (PDF): These are the artists and craftspeople whose spindles and bowls I will show over the course of three hours. The website addresses in the file are hot linked to make it easy for you to visit their online stores. Please note: this list may change as I am still curating my collection for show-and-tell during the class!

Buyer’s Guide (PDF): A printable checklist to take with you when shopping for a supported spindle.
