Announcing the Spanish Peacock Flock Tour de Fleece No Stress Spinalong!

Saturday, Jul 4, 2026 – Sunday, Jul 26, 2026: the official dates of the Tour de France.

Who

Anyone looking for a relaxed, supportive no stress Tour de Fleece experience. Everyone is welcome to join, even if you don’t own a Spanish Peacock spindle.

What

The title says it all—a no stress spinalong during Tour de Fleece! For several years I participated in regular TdF spinning teams and constantly found myself discouraged by the experience. I am a process spinner: never the fastest, or the finest, or the most productive or, or, or… No matter the category for each day’s spin, I always seemed to come in last. Clearly, to have the TdF spinalong I wanted, I needed to host my own!

Rules

This is a NO STRESS SPINALONG. If you…

• are already over-committed to another team(s)
• have too many other works-in-progress (WIPs)
• are dealing with physical limitations
• need to focus on real life
• …or would otherwise get stressed out by participating, please sit this one out!

Let me clarify that first bullet. We’d love have you along for our Tour, even if you are in another team as well, as long as participating in multiple teams supports your TdF experience rather than degrading it.

Each day during the Tour I’ll post a thread for progress photos, discussions, etc. Photos posted in the daily spinalong threads may include non-Spanish Peacock spinning tools—even wheels and eSpinners—since everyone is welcome to participate. While days may be designated as “hilly”, or “flat” to match the Tour de France, spinners are free to spin whatever they want on whichever day they want.

Where

This annual spinalong will be hosted both on the Spanish Peacock Flock Facebook group as well as the Spanish Peacock Flock Discord. You only need to participate in one forum—please don’t stress yourself out trying to keep up with posts in both social media platforms. If you want to post on Instagram as well, we suggest the following hashtags: #peahennostressspinalong #spinalong #sal #tourdefleece #tourdefleece2026 and #tdf2026.

Resources

The Tipsy Spinster has provided several free resources for this year’s Tour de Fleece, including a printable calendar. She also created custom Spanish Peacock spinalong bingo cards. These bingo cards are just for fun for those who feel like playing along. The first page is for spindle spinners, and the second for generic spinning including wheels and eSpinners. Not sure how to randomly pick a square? She’s even got a 20-sided fiber-themed die cut-out to help you out! If you use any of these resources, consider showing your appreciation on her Ko-Fi. She also recently published a Tour de Fleece 2026 e-magazine which is also available through her Ko-Fi page. 

Prizes!

There will be prizes this year, both on Discord and the Facebook group. Winners will be selected at random from spinners who actively participated during the spinalong. This means posting your progress, cheering on others, and showing up when you can while staying within the “no stress” boundaries. I will be tracking participation over the course of the spinalong. Prizes will be drawn and announced on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
